Tourist ID- Gerasa Hotel
Gerasa Hotel was first opened in 2016-2017, as a 4 – stars hotel. The hotel was named after the original name of the city of Jerash embracing its historical impression it is one of the many hotels in Amman that face issues that are ignored, whether with the design function or aesthetics.
Therefore I specifically chose Gerasa as my project for its many issues. However, the main issue I wanted to address was its lack of embracing its heritage significance through its current interior design.

Interior Design Style
The style I pursued through the redesign is the Modern Classic also known as NeoClassic. For the suggested interior design colors, materials, furniture, style and accessories, all are based on the concept and following the guidelines of the chosen style.
The colors are coming from the Jerash city pallete and in order for them to work together and replace the current design I made sure that all colors are comfortable for the eye and psychologically relaxing.
As for materials I chose to mix through rough and smooth, shiny and matte to interpret the Jerash city vibe but at the same time maintain a relaxing and not too disturbing for users and staff.
Furniture chosen were modern and simple in order for the cleaning service to be easier and faster for the hotel as it does not have details like classic furniture. As well as it being in contrast with the classic mood we will set in walls and flooring.
Flooring is neutral, as I used warm toned wood floors, and ceramic tiles that are soft colored in order for he design to have textured carpets or accessories.
Accessories are the main thing that gave the historical/ cultural touch and using them embraced the style and concept through the design.

The whole concept idea is based upon the Jerash city, what I chose as the concept is to not erase their identity but embrace it by creating the mood and interior environment of the hotel more related to the city’s history. Using its aesthetics of temples, columns and different living eras the interior design clearly shows to the users of the hotel and gives it more significance. Jerash city has gone through many eras like Byzantine, Roman, early Muslim etc. What I wanted to do is to reinterpret the history and culture of the Jerash city into the Gerasa Hotel interior design so that it is clear and momentous for users and staff.
